Re: West Ham off to Dubai for warm weather training
Antonio did make that video where he complained about the other players not wanting to celebrate with him. I thought it was tongue in cheek, but maybe there was something there in that.

I wondered if it might be because they think he's a closet poof. He could be.

Interesting- hope that doesn't mean the 'broken promises' stuff which was touted is true.

Would be gutted to lose Antonio.

Not liking the mention of cliques either....

The bird from that video wasn't answering his calls

Not sure. He just seemed fed up. Much like Arbeloa, he was very much wandering around on his own. There are definitely some cliques in that group too.

Probably tired of being constantly questioned over the non-story about his new contract.

Why was Antonio looking glum then?

Everton are out there too at the moment.

No doubt the scouts will be keeping a close eye on Enner "good world cup" Valencia..

Re: West Ham off to Dubai for warm weather training
Saw most of them at Heathrow on Wednesday evening. Was catching a flight to Sydney via Dubai and joked with my missus that we could bump into them. All of a sudden they started piling in through security. Had a chat with a glum looking Antonio. Arbeloa was moping about on his own and clearly being ignored by the rest of them. It was glaringly obvious that he's alienated himself from the rest of the group.

Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Widespread Dust

I assume that means dust in the air, and not just on the ground. Very pleasant.

They should come over here, it's not warm, it's fucking hot. That would help a few groins heal in no time plus........very few Arabs.

I read that Sunderland are in New York, fucking freezing there.

I thinks its a good idea to head off, got a while between games and need a change of scenary to keep focus.

Re: West Ham off to Dubai for warm weather training
I'd have them all work the 6am shift at a Sports Direct warehouse for the week.
Expect they would train like men possessed the following week and beat Watford.

What about cold weather training? Take them to Iceland and get them jumping in and out of holes cut into glacial lakes.

They'll come back to the UK and it'll feel positively tropical. Maybe some of the squad will realize they don't need gloves when its 15 degrees?

It's got to be what Trevor just said.

Dubai is more like a gated beach community compared to the beaches of southern Europe and West Africa, where the players would be mobbed.

Russ

not sure really mate, but many clubs go there. could be for marketing purposes, or simply because a lot of closer countries might mean extra unwanted public attention. security and privacy is virtually guaranteed in top dubai resorts.

we will lose at Watford.

I am all for it if it improves morale and gets them fitter. But I suppose the only question is why Dubia when you have hot countries a lot closer.

Noticed one of the Hull players was asked what the manager had done to improve their results.
Said that he has cancelled all their days off and has them training more.
